Is It Shabby Chic??

Hello everyone I am soo excited just for the fact that I have a card to share with you all today.. hehehe. Life has really come full circle for me right now.. I have had Birthday's, Prom, Award ceremony, sports Banquet and it is not even half way done yet. Wow I got tired just thinking about it. :0) But for the most part I have loved every moment of it. I have just a little over 2 weeks until by DD graduation, my youngest son is graduation from Elementary school. So for the main part of  just being able to focus long enough to get a card done is a great thing.
I have a question and would love any feed back. I have heard the theme or term of many challenges lately as "Shabby Chic". I have not a Clue as to what that means. So if anyone can enlighten me I would be grateful.  I know Retro and I know Vintage so just need to know where doe "Shabby Chic fit in. That brings me to my card today.

I used this super adorable image from Babybud Designs. This little beauty is named Molly and I just Love her. Love her little outfit and her bonnet. I wanted to give my "Faux Charcoal" technique another try. I did another card using this technique when I first saw a tutorial about it a few months ago. So once I realized I wanted to print the image on "kraft" card stock I knew that this is the technique that I wanted to use to color her with. I only used two colors which where my Black and White Prisma pencil and OMS. For this months challenge at Baby Bud is to use Die Cuts or Punches. So I used my Oval Large and Scallop Nesti to cut out Molly Plus my Martha Stewart Punch to add a little boarder, and even my Corner rounders.

I used the Sketch and theme "Shabby Chic or Vintage from Sugar Creek Hollow
Card stock is Kraft from PTI, I inked up the edges of all my paper and Card with Tim Holtz "Vintage Photo" I also distressed my Nesti die scallop all around and also on my M.S. Punch boarder. DP. is Cosmo Cricket " Everafter". I love this kit the papers do have an older vintage look to them. Ribbon is a gold wire that I got from Walmart I added two gold brads and use my white gell pen to add a little boarder to the frame.

  8. Hi Sharette-
Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful!!!! I color with Prismas myself and I am so nervous about the technique, but you made Ms. Molly look so cute!!! I know that I am putting so much concentration on Molly, but you did a really great job making her the focal point of your card. WOW...Ok, I'm done now!! Hehehe!
Thank you for joining us this month at Baby Bud Designs....Looking forward to seeing you again soon.
